Floodwater release bulletin

At 12:30 PM on Friday, June 13:

• Grand Lake elevation was 750.89 feet.
  
• Grand Lake flood pool was at 54.44 percent capacity.
  
• At the direction of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, five (5) floodgates were open at Pensacola Dam, discharging 31,782 cubic feet per second (cfs) of water.
  
• Six (6) units were online at the Pensacola Dam powerhouse, releasing 14,414 cfs of water through generation.
  
• Releases through floodgates and generation totaled 46,196 cfs.
  
• Inflows into Grand Lake totaled 42,041 cfs.

• Lake Hudson elevation was 626.23 feet.
  
• Lake Hudson flood pool was at 34.83 percent capacity.
  
• At the direction of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, one (1) floodgate was open at Kerr Dam, discharging 17,928 cubic feet per second (cfs) of water.
  
• Three (3) units were online at Robert S. Kerr Dam powerhouse releasing 21,600 cfs of water through generation.
  
• Releases through floodgates and generation totaled 39,528 cfs.
  
• Inflows into Lake Hudson totaled 48,870 cfs.

The most recent crest predictions from the United States Army Corps of Engineers are for a 751.60 feet crest on Saturday afternoon (June 14) for Grand Lake. Lake Hudson has a current crest prediction of 630.50 early Sunday (June 15).

The Grand River watershed consists of approximately 12,000 square miles of runoff in parts of Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Of that total, over half—7,000 square miles—is uncontrolled runoff, meaning there is no reservoir to control it above the Pensacola Dam. However, the remaining 5,000 square miles of runoff passes through the John Redmond Dam, located near Burlington, Kansas, prior to reaching the Grand River system in Oklahoma.
