“A Grand Adventure” youth day camp returning to Grand Lake this month
Jul 06, 2021
The Grand River Dam Authority, along with Blue Thumb and the Oklahoma State University Extension Service are planning a “A Grand Adventure” later this month.
The organizations are joining forces to again offer the popular lake and stream youth day camp for students ages 9 to 12. The event will take place on Friday, July 23, at the GRDA Ecosystems and Education Center in Langley. Registration cost is $25.00, and closes on July 16.
Campers attending the day-long camp (8:30AM to 3:30PM) will learn about the water cycle, how water gets polluted, what lives under the water and how erosion works. Seining for bugs and fish and even wading in the creek are also on the day’s agenda.
Each child attending the event will receive a small net, towel, snacks, and a great experience learning about some of Oklahoma’s most valuable natural resources. But hurry, registration is limited to the first 25 participants. Note: campers who have attend in the past will be put on a wait list to allow other campers to attend.
