No current outages on GRDA system…
GRDA begins repairs following storms

The Grand River Dam Authority is making repairs to portions of its high voltage electric transmission system this morning after high winds and storms moved through Northeast Oklahoma Monday night (August 26), causing damage. A GRDA line northeast of Grove took the brunt of the damage, as 18 structures toppled during the storm.

On the southern end of the system, near Sallisaw, winds also knocked down several structures.

Initially, there were some power interruptions during the storm, however GRDA System Operators were able to reroute power feeds. As repairs were beginning Tuesday morning, there were no outages on GRDA’s system.

Early Tuesday morning, GRDA Powerline Maintenance personnel utilized GRDA’s helicopter to assess the damage. Clearing debris and damage could take several days before the process to make permanent repairs begins. GRDA estimates those repairs could take several weeks, especially in the area northeast of Grove.

GRDA will provide additional information as it becomes available.
