Headed to the waters of Grand or Hudson lakes for the Labor Day Holiday? If so, the Grand River Dam Authority Police Department wants to remind you to boat safe, smart, and sober on the water. And always, wear your life jacket.

The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department wants to remind those heading to the lakes or river of some important information that can help promote a safe time on the water.

Whether visiting GRDA’s Grand Lake, Lake Hudson, or the scenic Illinois River, it is important to remember that enjoyable outings always start with boating – and floating – safe, smart and sober.

“Labor Day weekend is a great opportunity for many water enthusiasts to visit the lake or the river,” said GRDA Corporate Spokesperson Justin Alberty. “We encourage them to come out and have a great time but also to remember that great time starts with wearing a life jacket and using common sense on the water.”
