Owasso’s Fuller joins GRDA Board

Nicki Fuller, general manager and chief executive officer of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives. Fuller has joined the GRDA Board of Directors as the electric cooperative representative.

Nicki Fuller (Owasso), general manager and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC), has joined the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) Board of Directors. Fuller replaces outgoing Director Chris Meyers (Edmond) as the board’s electric cooperative representative.

Fuller has served as OAEC GM/CEO since April 1st, following Meyers, who retired from that position on March 31. Prior to joining OAEC she served as executive director of the Southwestern Power Resources Association. Her background in the electric industry is extensive and includes her service as vice chair of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Preference Customer Committee, as well as chair of the American Public Power Association’s Federal Hydropower Committee.

Fuller also serves on the executive committee and board of the National Waterways Association and is advisor to the joint Department of Energy and United States Army Corps of Engineers Federal Hydropower Council. She is also a member of the Oklahoma Waterways Board.

A native of Marshfield, Missouri, Fuller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Missouri State University. She also earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Tulsa, where she served as a member of the Energy Law Journal.

“We are excited to have Director Fuller’s wealth of experience in the utility industry as part of our board,” said GRDA President/Chief Executive Officer Dan Sullivan. “Her understanding of public power, hydroelectric issues and overall knowledge will serve GRDA and its customers well in the years ahead.

Meyers leaves the GRDA Board after serving as the electric cooperative representative since March 2010. His career in the Oklahoma electric industry spans 40 years, including 15 years with OAEC.

GRDA is governed by a seven-member board of directors comprised of representatives from each GRDA customer class (municipals, electric cooperatives, and industrials) as well as the GRDA lakes area. Two at-large representatives also sit on the board. Board members serve staggered, five-year terms, with one position opening each year, to ensure continuity.

GRDA is Oklahoma’s largest public power utility; fully funded by revenues from electric and water sales instead of taxes. Each day, GRDA strives to be an “Oklahoma agency of excellence” by focusing on the 5 E’s: electricity, economic development, environmental stewardship, employees, and efficiency.
