What’s Up with Your Dock?
Feb 10, 2021
Power for Progress… a weekly column from the Grand River Dam Authority.
Although the calendar (and temperatures) still say wintertime, it is not too early to start thinking about summertime on the water. And, it is always a good time to ask: What’s up with your dock?
It is a simple question, but one that is actually intended to lead to a few more questions:
- Is your dock properly permitted?
- Do you have your dock sticker properly posted on the dock?
- Have you had it electrically inspected?
These are all important questions for dock owners around the shores of Grand and Hudson lakes, especially those who may be planning to sell a dock with lake property. That is because you must have a properly permitted dock to help make the property transition process a smooth one.
GRDA wants to help make those experiences good ones for lake visitors and residents and that’s why we ask the question. If you need some assistance in getting that answer, contact GRDA’s lake permitting offices at (918) 256 0852 or email at lakepermits@grda.com
A strong commitment to environmental stewardship is central to GRDA’s overall mission. Working with dock owners to help ensure their docks are properly permitted is one way we meet that mission.
GRDA is Oklahoma’s largest public power utility; fully funded by revenues from electric and water sales instead of taxes. Each day, GRDA strives to be an “Oklahoma agency of excellence” by focusing on the 5 E’s: electricity, economic development, environmental stewardship, employees and efficiency.
